Jessica Yaeger
Ms. Yaeger grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana and earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience at Emmanuel College in Boston, MA in 2011. Wanting to use her background to help better others’ lives, upon completing her undergraduate degree, she returned home and attended Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in Baton Rouge, LA from 2012-2015, where she was taught both civil and common law. During her time at LSU Law, she clerked for the Honorable Magistrate C. Michael Hill of the Western District of Louisiana, served as Research Assistant to the Head Librarian at LSU Law Center, and for two years served as the President of the LSU Chapter of the American Constitution Society, the leading progressive legal organization that dedicates itself to advancing and defending democracy, justice, equality, and liberty. Ms. Yaeger received her Doctor of Jurisprudence and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from LSU in 2015.
Shortly after graduating from law school, Ms. Yaeger was hired by Promontory Financial, an advising firm in Denver, CO, doing anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism finance compliance and regulation. After less than a year, Ms. Yaeger realized she wanted to help everyday individual people, not massive banks & insurance companies. In 2016, Ms. Yaeger moved back to her hometown and began working for The Toce Firm in Lafayette, Louisiana, doing Plaintiff’s work in the field of personal injury litigation. As the sole associate attorney, Ms. Yaeger successfully handled hundreds of cases during her almost 6 years at The Toce Firm, gaining extensive experience in auto accident, slip and fall, helicopter crash, and commercial crash cases, and becoming fluent in both state and federal litigation. She also volunteered through Lafayette’s pro bono attorney program, helping women who could not otherwise afford legal counsel to gain protective orders and divorces.
After passing the Texas Bar in 2021, Ms. Yaeger moved to Austin, Texas and joined DC Law, where she uses her background in neuroscience and psychology along with her legal skills to gain justice for her injured clients. In her free time, she is a dedicated dog mom to her goldendoodle, Sansa, and enjoys all the hiking, swimming, and outdoor activities Austin and its surrounding areas have to offer.
