Jessica Yaeger

Ms. Yaeger grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, and earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience at Emmanuel College in Boston, MA, in 2011. Wanting to use her background to help better others’ lives, she returned home and attended Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in Baton Rouge, LA, from 2012 to 2015. There, she learned both civil and common law.

During her time at LSU Law, Jessica clerked for the Honorable Magistrate C. Michael Hill of the Western District of Louisiana. She also served as a Research Assistant to the Head Librarian at LSU Law Center and as the President of the LSU Chapter of the American Constitution Society (ACS) for two years. The ACS is the leading progressive legal organization that dedicates itself to advancing and defending democracy, justice, equality, and liberty. Ms. Yaeger received her Doctor of Jurisprudence and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from LSU Law in 2015.

Shortly after graduating from law school, Jessica was hired by Promontory Financial, an advising firm in Denver, CO. There, she handled anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism finance compliance and regulation. After less than a year, she realized she wanted to help everyday people, not massive banks and insurance companies. In 2016, Jessica moved back to her hometown and began working for The Toce Firm in Lafayette, Louisiana, doing plaintiff’s work in the field of personal injury litigation. As the sole associate attorney, she successfully handled hundreds of cases during her almost six years at The Toce Firm, gaining extensive experience in cases involving auto accidents, slip and fall accidents, helicopter crashes, and commercial crashes. From this experience, she became fluent in both state and federal litigation. She also volunteered through Lafayette’s pro bono attorney program, helping women who could not otherwise afford legal counsel to gain protective orders and divorces.

After passing the Texas Bar in 2021, Jessica moved to Austin, Texas, and joined DJC Law. She uses her background in neuroscience and psychology along with her legal skills to gain justice for her injured clients. In her free time, she is a dedicated dog mom to her Goldendoodle, Sansa, and enjoys all the hiking, swimming, and outdoor activities Austin and its surrounding areas have to offer.
